In the midst of the protocol of social distancing, due to limited activities outside and close different establishments like schools and other public places, the Manila church comes up with the idea of going the house to house evangelism where they will do the Bible study at the same time.
Manila Church makes a schedule to go outside for door-to-door evangelism and Bible study and invite the nearby people to come and join them.
Catholic dominates the other religion in the Philippines and often the members of the Church struggled to invite teens and youth as most of the parents forbid their children to go to other Christian churches. Through this way, the parents will see and hear the gospel that the members are teaching to their child.
“By hearing the word of God inside their home, we are confident that this will give comfort to the parents or a family of the child because our motive is for them not to worry that we are not teaching them strange and wrong things like what most of the Filipino parents scared about. There are so many churches and different denominations in our country, and some of the Filipinos thought that aside from catholic the rest of the churches are cults. It is also good that we may be evangelized the whole family.” Pastor Ruth said.
She added, “I prayed to God to help us evangelize as we don’t have to rely only on the internet. We have to go out. The second challenge when going outside is that there’s no place where we can easily go even schools, malls, etc., most of them are close. That’s one of the reasons we thought about this another way. To go house to house and find young people to join on our Bible study, we also offer some free musical instruments but we can’t entertain a large number of people as we need to follow the protocol. I hope we could evangelize many lost, thirsty, and yet a prepared one.”
After the bible study, one bible study student shared her heart saying, “The moment the bible study started I had goosebumps and I feel that the word we hear brings light to the house. I am so joyful that after wandering around like a refugee, God finally comes to the rescue and gives us water and food to eat (words of God). I am so thankful for this day. I am excited for the next meeting we will have.”
